VaporWorx is pleased to offer a feature-rich upgrade to your relay controlled fuel pump.
The VaporWorx Intelligent Relay Control (IRC) will provide convenience and safety features that will help protect you and your pride and joy. This system is easily adapted to both new and existing builds by controlling the negative trigger side of a standard automotive relay.
Electric fuel pumps, especially those used in carbureted engines, are usually powered by a relay that is turned on by the ignition switch. That means for as long as the IGN is on, so is the fuel pump.
But what if the key needs to be in IGN but with the engine not running?
What happens in case of an accident, the fuel line is ruptured, and IGN is still on?
Most modern ECM’s have priming and system shutdown strategies to deal with these conditions. When using IGN only to trigger the relay on, fuel may be pumped uncontrolled. This can be both inconvenient and dangerous.
The VaporWorx IRC uses the engine tachometer signal to sense when to operate.
Here are some applications ideally suited for the IRC:
- Carburetor engines and engines with a non-ECM controlled electric fuel pump.
- Older Ford Racing Coyote Crate Engine ECM. Ford removed the fuel system safety features on the crate engine ECMs. Key on - Pump on.
- All air-to-liquid intercooler pump applications using a relay.
Features and Benefits of the VaporWorx Intelligent Relay Control:
- Three-second initial key-on prime cycle: At key-on, the IRC will energize the fuel pump relay for three seconds. If a tachometer signal is not sensed, the IRC will de-energize the fuel pump relay. Once a tachometer signal is sensed the fuel pump relay will be energized. The prime cycle can also be used to turn off intercooler pumps so that battery voltage remains high during long key-on/engine-off tuning cycles.
- Accident safety: In the event of an accident and the engine shuts down, the IRC will de-energize the fuel pump relay.
- Manual override: Want to set the float level without the engine on? How about running an intercooler pump to reduce temperatures between mile runs? The VaporWorx IRC has a simple override feature that will energize the relay by grounding the Violet wire in the supplied wiring harness.
- Have a Ford Racing Coyote Crate Engine package? There's no fuel shutoff control in the Ford controller. The IRC not only creates this feature, it also has an output to turn on a VaporWorx PWM control system that implements modern safety strategies.
- Compact size. The compact 1-1/2" W x 1-1/4" D x H size means it will fit almost anywhere.
- XLPE wire and sealed connector. The IRC comes with 15" of wire for each circuit pre-wired into a genuine Delphi sealed GT150 connector. Wire braid is also included.
- Made in the USA using all UL94 rated components. Assembled by VaporWorx.

Limited Warranty for Aeromotive Products for the United States of America
Aeromotive, LLC warrant to the original end user purchaser in the United States that the Aeromotive and Waterman Racing Components branded products (“Product(s)”) shall be free from defects in material and workmanship for the warranty durations set forth in the chart below from the date of purchase or delivery, whichever is later.

Because Aeromotive, LLC (collectively, the “Company”) cannot control the quality of products sold by unauthorized sellers, this warranty applies only to Products that were purchased from the Company or the Company’s authorized sellers in the United States, unless otherwise prohibited by law. Company reserves the right to reject warranty claims for Products purchased from unauthorized sellers, including unauthorized Internet sites.
This warranty does not cover any defects due to normal wear and tear, damage due to misuse, alteration to the product, negligence, damage caused by aftermarket applied coatings, discoloration, or corrosion of finished surfaces. This warranty also does not cover damage resulting from collision, improper installation, off-road use, road hazards, the use of exhaust insulating wrap or like products, or rust occurring after installation.
Purchasers of a Product who wish to make a warranty claim based upon an alleged Product defect should email the Company at techs@aeromotiveinc.com the following information: (1) Product subject to the claim, (2) brief description of the alleged defect, (3) date and place of purchase/delivery, (4) proof of purchase (showing when and where the Product was purchased), and (5) pictures or videos of the Product. If you purchased on an online marketplace, please be sure the proof of purchase shows from whom you purchased (this information is available in your order history). In some instances, Company may instruct you to mail the Product to Company for inspection and/or repair; if such instruction is provided, Company will provide you with a prepaid shipping label. You can also contact the Company Monday – Friday, 8AM – 6:30PM CT at (913) 808-2376.
Company will replace or repair a defective Product that is covered by this warranty. This
warranty does not cover the cost of removal or installation. Company will pay for the return shipping of the Product to the purchaser.
There are no warranties which extend beyond those stated herein. ANY IMPLIED
WARRANTIES THAT MAY BE APPLICABLE TO PRODUCTS, INCLUDING IMPLIED
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE
LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS WARRANTY. Some States do not
allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

Aeromotive use a voluntary product identification program whereby all emission sensitive products can be identified by placing numbered labels in product packaging and listing corresponding numeric codes next to each part number. The corresponding numbers and explanations are as follows:

This product has been granted a California Air Resources Board (CARB) Executive Order (EO Number) Exemption. It is 50 State Legal when installed on the Specified vehicle per the Manufacturer’s Current Application Guide, the CARB EO, and Installation Instructions.
AEROMOTIVE EMISSIONS CODES
This product is Legal for use on Pre-PoIIution Controlled Vehicles. It is legal for use on all vehicles produced Before Emissions Control Regulations were imposed. These are considered Uncontrolled Vehicles and are defined as follows
