Deegan Goes In-Tank with Dual Phantom
2 min read
Brian Deegan, an award-winning racer, recently joined the Phantom bandwagon and installed one in his truck. He has been racing for years – his professional career starting at the ripe old age of seventeen. When he graduated from high school, he moved from Omaha to California with nothing but a dirt bike, a truck, and a credit card. He took a chance on a new move and subsequently earned a spot on a supercross team. This became his springboard; he quickly took over the industry and, in the process, kick-started a new kind of riding and started a racing team. Today, he is the most decorated Freestyle Motocross rider in history with 15 X-Games medals to his name. He currently competes in Motocross, Freestyle Motocross, Rally Car, and Short Course Trucks.
Deegan, along with a couple others, started Metal Mulisha in the late 1990’s. The team grew quickly, taking on the best riders in the business, such as Jeremy Lusk, Jeff Ox Kargola,Taka Higashino, and others. The team charged forward with Deegan at the helm, winning multiple X-Games medals and taking on the off-road trucking world. Metal Mulisha became one of the most respected brands through events like the X-Games where freestyle was given the opportunity to flourish. The brand encourages individuality, rebellion, and a competitive spirit.
Today, he is harnessing the beauty that is our Dual Phantom in his off-road truck. We recommend the Phantom line for off-roading because it solves the fuel issues this type of racing sees. Our baffle and in-tank design combats the fuel slosh that comes with the rough-and-tumble nature of this kind of racing. It also provides a second pump in case the first one takes an especially hard hit from the environment – all you have to do is flip a switch and the second one is on and ready to go. The system takes up less space than normal because each pump comes with a check valve integrated into it. This means no more mounting external check valves to keep things running smooth and more space to work with. The Dual Phantom is lightweight, which allows for more flexibility with weight distribution.
