Aeromotive’s Annual Open House & Car Show Expands to Include Engine Challenge/Live Feed
Aeromotive will host a Hot Rodder’s of Tomorrow (HROT) Engine Challenge preliminary competition in conjunction with their annual Open House and Car Show this year. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 13, from 9AM-5PM.The HROT competition will consist of multiple teams of five from local high school auto tech classes. Each team is expected to be able to correctly tear down and re-assemble a 350-cubic-inch Chevy engine, and be the fastest to do so. The HROT is proven to grow auto tech classes and to help students develop skills that will be used in the workplace. It also provides scholarship, internship, and mentorship opportunities for students. Our Open House and Car Show will be going on during the HROT competition. This provides a quality opportunity for our car show attendees to see the future of the industry do what they do best. Our car show will include a show ‘n’ shine featuring street performance cars, racecars, and show cars, as well as shop tours, food, and beverages. Wes Buck, editor-in-chief of Drag Illustrated and Street Race Magazine, will be on hand to provide a live feed of the entire event, including the competition. In addition, Steve Gardner, the Director of Heartland Park, Topeka will be on hand to provide car show attendees with more information regarding the Menards Nationals presented by Minties. This race is held on May 19-21 at Heartland Park Topeka. This year’s race has a few firsts: Pro-Mod’s will be running there for the first time, as will Nitro Harley’s and Jet Dragsters. Also, a concert is going to be held at Heartland Park on Saturday, May 20th.
