Aeromotive celebrates its 18th Anniversary today, August 1, 2012. In 1994 Aeromotive front man, Steve Matusek opened the doors of Aeromotive and began production on some of finest fuel pumps still on the road today. Although Matusek was instrumental in the development of several fuel pumps and companies that preceded Aeromotive, August of 1994 marked the production of a complete line of fuel systems under the Aeromotive brand name. What pump did they start with… you guessed it, the Aeromotive A1000 Fuel Pump. Arguably the most popular “big EFI” fuel pump ever, the A1000 was ahead of its time. Almost 20 years ago, 1000 horsepower on the street was a serious endeavor and almost unheard of. Today, the with the revolution that is the LS and the late model rivals from Mopar and Ford, that 1000 hp mark is almost too easy. All this making the A1000 the fuel pump of choice for thousands of road warriors every day.
“It’s funny,” said Matusek. “I never thought it would grow like this and that the brand name would take on a life of its own. I’m so extremely proud of this company, hard to believe its been 18 years.” Aeromotive started with one fuel pump 18 years ago and has grown to a line of fuel delivery products upwards of 500 SKU’s. They fuel everything from NHRA Pro Stock cars to Lucas Oil Off Road rigs, street rods and custom cars purpose built for Formula Drift. “Our versatility and ingenuity is really what sets us apart from our competitors,” Matusek continued. “There are a lot of good product out there, but few companies have the breadth of product that we offer.”
What’s next for Aeromotive? Matusek may have foreshadowed that as well. “Over the last few years, we’ve really challenged the conventional preconception of what a high performance fuel system should be. In fact, we’ve challenged what we helped build. Look at what we are doing now, everything we’ve done has been in-tank fuel systems. Putting big pumps in OE fuel tanks. From late model cars like the Camaro and Corvette to muscle cars and universal fuel cells,” Matusek continued. “We’ve got big things planned for this coming year. We know where the problems lie, and we’re out to solve them!”
Aeromotive and it’s employees would like to thank all of the racers and hot rodders that have helped support us over the last 18 years. In addition, we would like to thank all of our customers that have believed in both the product and the personalities that have helped shape Aeromotive to where it is today. Celebrating this milestone would not be possible without everyone’s support and we thank you. Here’s to the next 18 years and beyond!
